The best way to break our addiction to water from disposible, plastic bottles is to offer something BETTER. Chilled, reverse osmosis water from sculptures made from recycled aluminium cans. What's not to love?
In partnership with Distil Ennui Studio, Hidden Plastic is working to help put these artisanal fountains into the Maldives. With an estimated 80% of the urban population drinking their water from plastic bottles everyday, this is an urgent problem.
The Maldives has the worst microplastic-pollution problem in the world. Millions of plastic water bottles are either openly burned on 'Trash Island' or escape into the sea each year. The situation can be solved with access to safe, clean drinking water for all...including 1.88 million+ tourists/year.
See another reason why plastic bottles are so bad with our explainer video 'If Water Bottle Commercials were Honest'!
